Independent provider of testing and certification services to manufacturers of PPE, INSPEC has expanded its capabilities for testing and certifying hearing protectors to include electronic ear muffs.
The company says it gained accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) earlier this year, which allows it to test and certify hearing-protector products to standards EN 352-4, 352-5, 352-6, 352-7 and 352-8. These cover a range of devices, including active noise-reduction products, level-dependent ear muffs and plugs, headphones for entertainment audio, and muffs with built-in audio communications.
