Athletic Gore-Tex safety shoes
Showcased for the first time at the A+A trade show in Düsseldorf last November, the Athletic GORE-TEX® safety footwear is suitable for a number of sectors, including logistics and the food-processing industry.
Gore and its manufacturing partners took inspiration from the features, technologies and design elements used in the sports and multifunctional footwear sector to design and construct the new footwear.
According to the manufacturers, the combination of breathable and durable upper materials, special lightweight sole constructions, penetration-resistant materials and toe cap protection together with new laminate means that it is now possible to manufacture sporty, high performance safety shoes in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2011.
Gore says that the waterproof, stretchable tongue, made with the company’s registered stretch laminate, is a highlight of the new technology. Not only does this new tongue system further enhance the fit of the shoe, but it also means that less creases are produced that might cause rubbing and pressure points on the foot, according to Gore.
