Safety equipment supply – Rental Robot
Designed to automate the issue and return of safety equipment, Draeger says its Rental Robot makes masks, portable gas detectors and consumables available at any time. By keeping a record of how often devices are used, it also supports the materials-planning process.
Employees wishing to pick up their PPE can simply log on at the “service station” any time, using a barcode, or radio frequency identification (RFID), explains the company.
Based on the respective user data, the Rental Robot identifies which products the employee may access and displays those devices on a screen. Optional information on the products’ performance range can also be displayed. Returning the equipment is equally easy, adds Draeger: once identified, the user puts the device back into the compartment.
The devices are issued to registered users only with existing identification systems, such as company ID cards etc., being used to confirm user identification. Draeger also points out that the Rental Robot stores the issue and return of every product and automatically generates a trend analysis of device utilisation.
