Norwegian oil giant Statoil has selected the new Pureflo PF31 ABS helmet respirator from Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd (HISL). The units will be used for a wide range of maintenance duties and were selected for their lightweight and operator-friendly design, says HISL.
The PF31 ABS (Airline Breathing System) is said to combine a hard hat, face shield and compressed-air respiratory protection in one helmet-mounted unit, with each element said to be approved to the latest European standards. Safety is further enhanced by the use of double-acting quick-release compressed-air connections.
