Protective workwear – Fhoss Technology

Somerset-based PPE firm Fhoss Technology® Ltd says it has recently sold 5000 sets of innovative, high-visibility clothing to construction, highway and rail companies to help improve safety.
Andy Kimitri, the company’s executive chairman, said: “We have orders from more than 200 companies in the UK and we are getting more and more requests daily. Some of the first orders have come from Amey Colas Rail and vehicle cleaning-product suppliers AutoSmart. We have also had many orders from abroad, including Latin America and Russia.”
Andy continued: “We have created and patented a revolutionary new protective clothing system that allows workers to be seen if there is no other light around and also ensures they can see where they are walking.
“This is the next generation of PPE and several steps on from the high-visibility jackets, trousers and vests workers wear that have been around for more than 50 years and have hardly changed. This isn’t just reflective clothing; it is one step ahead, or even a giant leap forward.”
Fhoss Technology® says it has produced a light-emitting reflective tape, which has been designed for use in professional environments where wearing a high-visibility garment is often mandatory. Andy, who invented the product, added: “We have combined the traditional reflective tape with an electroluminescent core that sits behind the semi-transparent tape and actively emits light. Therefore, when light is not available the tape produces light as if it were reflecting it.”
Fhoss Technology® says the product is approved and certified to the EN471 standard by independent test agencies.
