Protective clothing- Slash-resistant clothing

ASEO Europe has launched slash-resistant clothing to protect workers who could be at risk of knife-crime attacks.

The slash-resistant T-shirt is made from a material called Spectra, which the company claims is 15 times stronger than steel and 40 per cent stronger than Kevlar.

Garments, which can be worn directly on the skin, are said to have an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring they are comfortable. They are suitable for social workers, nurses and midwives, as they are discreet and can be worn under a uniform. They are also suitable for housing officers and taxi drivers.

The company supplies stab-resistant vests to the NHS, local authorities, and other public organisations.
