PPE – Head and eye protection from Centurion

New to the PPE market are the latest offerings from Centurion, which are not only said to provide high levels of impact protection for integrated eyewear but are also manufactured in the UK and carry the BSI Kitemark.

Described as a safety helmet with a fully-integrated moulded visor, Vision Plus is approved to EN 166 1 A T – the highest impact-protection rating said to be possible for eyewear.

The Vision Plus offers the same head-protection features as the well-established Vision, as well as a new moulded visor, which, according to Centurion, allows for prescription eyewear to be worn underneath.

The Spectrum helmet features a Grade B (medium-energy impact) visor, integrated over spectacles, which are said to provide a higher-impact grade than separate spectacles.

The company says both helmets are made from high-quality strong ABS and come with a premium hydro-flock sweatband, six-point Terylene cradle, and headband. The option also exists to add the new Twist2Fit wheel ratchet and a two or four-point chinstrap mounting facility.

Also built into the Spectrum helmet is AquaDirect – described as a rain management system – which allows rain to flow down and off the front of the peak.
