Hearing protection – Scott Safety Zone hearing range
According to Scott Safety, knowing the right type of hearing protection to choose for various applications can be confusing, so it has revamped and repositioned its Zone hearing range to help users make the right choice.
Said to feature refreshed aesthetics and added comfort from a new concave ear cup, the Zone range has been extended and segmented to create products targeted for specific applications and which maintain high attenuation performance to protect workers.
The Zone range is said to offer customers a straightforward way to choose the correct hearing protection for the job, through a simple colour-coding and number system. The system is divided into low-to-medium noise levels, medium-to-high noise levels, and extreme noise levels, protecting the wearer in a wide range of industrial environments, such as manufacturing, construction, mining or aviation.
Scott says the Industrial versions of the Zone range offer three levels of attenuation performance in headband, helmet-mounted and neckband versions, while the Forestry and Amenity models offer two levels of attenuation in headband and helmet-mounted styles. The high-visibility model offers a Zone 2 level of attenuation performance and is well suited to construction and aviation applications.
The Zone range of ear defenders has been designed to offer the highest levels of comfort for all sizes of ear, as well as a good fit and seal, adds Scott. It also encompasses active listening and AM/FM radio ear defenders that help avoid the risks associated with the short-term removal of ear defenders.
