Hearing protection – JSP InterEX and InterGP
JSP has added the new InterEX and InterGP helmet-mounted hearing-protection ranges to its collection of integrated PPE.
The company says its joined-up approach to PPE ensures that the new ear defenders do not compromise the head protection provided by the operative’s helmet. Both the InterEX and InterGP are said to fit firmly to any safety helmet with universal slots, while they are also compatible with JSP’s Surefit visor system.
Available in an extra-visibility orange version, both models have strong, adjustable stainless-steel arms, so that the cup can be positioned for maximum effect, explains JSP.
With its extra-large cups to fit all sizes and shapes of ear, the InterEX is said to offer protection for high noise levels. According to the company, the cups boast high impact resistance and toughness, while the clips ensure the defenders are securely mounted to the helmet.
The InterEX, with a single number rating (SNR) of 29, is said to be suitable for conditions where dB levels are up to around 110, such as when using nail guns or disc cutters, or in foundries. The general-purpose InterGP has a SNR of 25 and is suitable for use in drilling concrete or sandblasting, or in the food industry, where dB levels are between 80 and 90, says JSP.
