Campaign: Lungs are for life
The theme of this year’s ‘Breathe Easy Week’, from 14 to 20 June, is ‘Lungs are for life’, which groups all around the country will be promoting via a range of activities.
Organised by the British Lung Foundation the Week is supported by the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF), which recently launched its own respiratory-related campaign, ‘Clean Air? Take Care!’ BSIF chair, David Hall, commented: “The BSIF is pleased to support Breathe Easy Week and welcomes the increased awareness this will bring regarding the dangers of exposure to respiratory hazards, both at work and in the home.
“Through campaigns such as this and ‘Clean Air? Take Care!’, and initiatives such as Fit2Fit, the BSIF hopes that people will become more aware of the issues surrounding respiratory hazards and the incorrect selection of RPE, helping to protect today’s workforce and resulting in a significant reduction in related illnesses and fatalities.”
