British PPE manufacturer honoured for "remarkable" product
JSP’s new concept in eye and respiratory protection, the Filterspec, has won the Frost & Sullivan 2011 North America New Product Innovation Award.
The Oxfordshire-based company says FilterSpec combines a mask and disposable filter with safety spectacles or goggles in a way that allows both protective devices to work independently, but also as an integrated unit. It adds that FilterSpec and a goggle version, called FilterSpec Pro, allow both eye and respiratory protection to work at full effectiveness and create a perfect fit. The spectacles conform to EN166.1F, and the mask conforms to EN1827:1999 FMP2 with a P2 filter.
Global health and safety consultancy Frost & Sullivan was impressed with JSP for identifying and addressing an under-met requirement of the market. It called the Filterspec “a remarkable product, which is unique in its market”.
The firm’s industry principal of PPE, Brian Balmer, said: “Differentiating oneself from the competition in a highly mature and competitive market is a challenging task. JSP has made a distinct mark in the industry by excelling in its research and development capabilities to develop efficient products.”
