Back for a second year, the Innovation Trail highlights the latest health and safety product and services innovations. SHP offers a taster of what’s on display at this year’s show.
This year’s Innovation Trail has been designed to allow visitors to access all the newest products and services from across the industry. Among those on display will be Supertouch’s new range of respiratory protection equipment (RPE) with a variety of FFP2 and FFP3 masks available in moulded and flat pack form. Fully certified against EN 149:2001+A1:2009, the respirators can be used in a wide range of work environments that require RPE, including construction, pharmaceutical, agricultural and food processing.
Impacto will also be showcasing its latest innovations, which include the IMPACTO METGUARD, a durable, lightweight, safety footwear attachment that protects the metatarsal area of the foot. The product protects a worker’s upper foot by deflecting and dispersing the impact of falling loads, and has been designed and tested to complement steel cap footwear. It fits all shoes and boots and is secured with existing laces or straps. It is also CE certified and tested to conform to worldwide safety footwear standards.
Ultimate Ear Protection, meanwhile, offers a unique alternative to disposable earplugs – the custom-fit industrial range covers all attenuation levels, offering the user protection from background noise, but with the ability to hear face-to-face conversation. The AudioS also enables the user to connect into a radio system, allowing crystal clear sound filtered direct into the ear but offering a 31dB protection to background noise.
New technology innovations include Elmstone Systems Limited’s new Mirashare Mobile app – Miresnap. The incident reporting app harnesses mobile device features such as geo-location, instant photo capture and one touch sound recording, combining them with the powerful Mirashare suite of applications to produce a fast, simple and effective way of recording incidents and near misses.
Seaward will showcase its new PATMobile app, converting manual PATs into semi-automatic testers complete with test results recording capabilities. The new innovation is specifically designed to support the lightweight PrimeTest 50 and 100 testers for low to mid-volume testing and enables downloaded test results to be kept in formal records, stored for future reference and distributed easily via e-mail – eliminating the manual recording of results and paperwork normally associated with basic PAT testers.
On the training side, Environmental Essentials Ltd has developed an e-learning refresher asbestos-awareness training course, which is UKATA certified. This course has been designed to complement previous training and features a comprehensive training needs analysis (TNA) to ensure the training meets HSE guidelines for providing refresher training and matches the learner’s exact needs.
These new products and services are just a small preview of what visitors can expect to see on this year’s Innovation Trail, enabling them to easily access the latest developments in safety and health. Visitors will also be able to speak to leading suppliers that are shaking up the industry with new services, along with industry experts on hand to answer any questions and demo their products on their stands.
In addition to the Innovation Trail, Safety & Health Expo has worked with the British Safety Industry Federation to create the Innovation Zone, located at the end of the trail, hosting a number of innovation pods that house a range of companies that will launch new products at the event.
