Created for those who regularly drive for work, new qualification aims to improve driver safety standards by elevating driver knowledge.
RoSPA has launched its RoSPA Level 2 International Award in Defensive Driving qualification which is suitable for road users including operating off-road and heavy-goods vehicles. It aims to provide a better understanding of road risks and defensive driving techniques. This includes hazard awareness, speed management and risk assessment.
As well as driving techniques, the course seeks to tackle driver behaviours such as fatigue and distraction, along with an education on journey conditions and vehicle safety systems.
With the launch of the new course, the charity was named an accredited provider of Defensive Driver Training in the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) Land Transportation Safety Practice document, a report based on experience and current practices proven effective in reducing serious incidents.
