Airborne hazardous substances are to blame for thousands of new cases of occupational respiratory disease in the UK each year. The majority of exposures occur via inhalation of vapours, dusts, particles, fibres, fumes or gases or combinations of these.
This document provides health and safety advice and guidance to both workers who may be unknowingly exposed, and to employers who have a responsibility to keep exposure within healthy limits.
