Ventilation maintenance – System Hygienics

Providing clean air for residents of flats with windowless bathrooms, where the likes of lint and skin flakes are drawn into the mechanical ventilation ducts, is the service System Hygienics has been providing for Kensington and Chelsea Tenants Management Organisation (TMO) since 2003.
The ventilation-hygiene specialist points out that if contaminants accumulate in the ducts they can cause a blockage, reducing the amount of airflow, so maintenance to ensure it remains clean and clear is vital. For TMO, System Hygienics cleans the ducts and risers to the bathrooms and kitchens of each flat in some 25 different blocks. The grilles in the bathroom and kitchen, and a short section back to the riser, are cleaned. Each riser is connected to a number of bathrooms, and the riser up to the roof is then cleaned afterwards.
