Training – RRC course for the process industry
Aimed at process operators and technicians in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and food processing, the NEBOSH Award in Safety, Health and Environment for the Process Industries has been introduced by RRC Training.
This introductory qualification covers common issues affecting all these industries, including major-accident regulation, human error, plant integrity, emergency preparedness, risk management and environmental protection. As well as providing an introduction to other NEBOSH qualifications, including the National General Certificate, RRC says the course forms part of the Cogent Gold Standard – a UK framework devised by the Sector Skills Council for the major-hazard and process industries, which sets out the skills and qualifications required for these sectors.
The course is available via e-learning, or traditional face-to-face training. The full course comprises 49 study hours but exemptions can be claimed for Units HSW1/2 in certain circumstances – see www.rrc.co.uk for details.
