Safety cushioning specialists Redbacks Cushioning Limited say they have introduced a world first in midsole and insole design for footwear that gives maximum comfort and relief from the painful pressures of walking or standing for lengthy periods.
UK firm Redbacks Cushioning say the design, which incorporates patented leaf-spring cushioning technology, is based on an advanced engineered suspension system comprising of soft leaf springs suspended within a rubber matrix. They claim the leaf springs are scientifically proven to mirror and complement the shape and movement of the foot, and flex whilst walking; the pressures that are the main cause of pain and damage are therefore eliminated whilst providing simultaneous maximum energy return and comfort, giving a ‘walking on air’ sensation, say the firm.
The technology is integrated into the sole in the form of either a removable insole or a midsole, adds Redbacks.
