Waste-industry training- Waste management

AJF Waste Management has launched what it says are the UK’s only Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM)-accredited training courses for operatives working in front-line operations.

The courses include Street Collections, Materials Reclamation Facility (MRF), and Reversing Assistant. An IOSH-accredited manual-handling course is also now available.

Andrew Firman, MD of the south Wales-based firm explains: “AJF has pioneered the training of agency staff prior to their placement, and is dedicated to leading the industry by achieving and maintaining the highest standards of good practice. It was a natural progression to get these courses accredited by the CIWM and IOSH.”

He also points out that training for temporary/agency staff ahead of their engagement also conforms to HSE good-practice guidance.
