Specsavers’ eyec are wish list for 2017
Dear 2017,
As we start a new year we are asking for the little things, which could make a big difference.
In 2017, we would like to see companies embrace their multi-generational workforce with benefits that resonate with every age group. Eyecare is relevant to all ages, whether it be those who suffer eyestrain from overuse of handheld technology or those who are concerned that slowly diminishing eyesight could affect their driving abilities. Eyecare will not only help everyone to see clearly, bringing productivity benefits, but it can also provide extensive health benefits – from detecting early signs of diabetes, an issue relevant to the younger generation; to treating age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which is the most common cause of sight loss in the developed world and increases in likelihood in the over 40s.
We would like to see smaller companies being able to compete with the larger corporates, being able to offer comparable benefits. To assist in this cause, we have made our eVouchers available without contracts or tie-ins, the minimum requirement for eVouchers is just five and administration is easy and user-friendly, we also provide dedicated support for business owners. With eyecare being vital to each and every person, we would like smaller companies and organisations to take advantage of these positives so that they can offer eyecare that is every bit as professional and high quality as the benefits offered by much larger companies.
Communication is vital for benefits to prove successful. We would like to see businesses providing wellbeing events, with specialists being brought in to explain the benefits on offer. Through such events, we have seen firsthand the advantages of giving employees the opportunity to feel comfortable with their eyecare supplier and of instilling confidence in their reputation and trustworthiness. In correlation to this, the workforce becomes increasingly savvy and we would like to see employees demanding comfort and design from their eyewear, so that they are more likely to actually wear it.
With these things in place, we hope that 2017 will bring greater wellbeing to employees, with greater satisfaction in their benefits, resulting in great productivity.
Best wishes,
Specsavers Corporate Eyecare
