Safety software- Laidler risk-management software system

Laidler Associates says its risk-management software system gives up-to-the-minute guidance on risk assessments for the working environment, CE Marking to the Machinery Directive, and PUWER 98.

The system is said to simplify and speed up the process of assessment, and ensures that no vital steps are missed. According to Laidler, the latest version has been fully updated to cover the requirements of the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Other enhancements include an option to ISO EN 13849-1 or EN954-1 for the safety of machinery, and an on-disk copy of the ACoP to PUWER 98.

Laidler points out that the modular design of the software means it can be readily enhanced to suit the needs of individual users. All modules are said to guide the user through the steps necessary for compliance using a simple Q&A approach that ensures that every step is properly completed. The modules then generate detailed reports in a uniform format, making it easy to fully document risk-assessment processes and, in the case of CE marking, to produce the essential technical files. If non-compliances are found, a ‘to do’ list is created, listing items in order of risk.
