Designed to enhance the delivery of pre-start safety meetings, the Sentis Safe Leader iPhone App is described as a godsend for any supervisor, or group leader. Built around a variety of topics, the app is a tool to help make meetings both interesting and effective.
The app is based on four practical functions for everyday use: Activities – prompts for daily action to help focus a team’s attention on safety; Questions – aimed at stimulating positive safety behaviour; Conversations – topics to get your team talking about safety; and Information – facts and statistics to help reinforce safety messages.
Synchronised with the iPhone camera functionality, the app is also said to give users an integrated forum to: photograph hazards; add notes and observations; set GPS coordinates for the location; and e-mail reports for internal action.
Other features highlighted by Sentis include a ‘favourites list’ for quick retrieval of preferred content; a built-in ‘how to’ guide; and ‘help’ videos.
Also new, the Sentis Safety Observation Tool is designed to simplify safety reporting and performance.
Tailored to the iPad interface, the application is said to feature a user-friendly dashboard with customisable safety observation categories. Capable of being operated offline, where Internet connectivity is limited, the tool allows for streamlined, flexible observation and reporting in the field.
