Permit-to-work system- Interflex 6020

A complete overhaul of the contractor permit-to-work system has been rolled out at Birmingham’s Bullring, using software from Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies (IRST).

The Interflex 6020 Contractor Permit to Work and Visitor Administration System is said to integrate the existing paper forms and procedures into an electronic software format.

According to IRST, the new platform allows for quick and easy registration of companies and personnel with regard to issuing passes and permits to work, and has greatly increased all aspects of security, monitoring and efficiency.

The system can monitor permits and raise alarms when necessary – for example, if a contractor exceeds the allocated time of the permit or fails to report back and return it, the control centre and site security can be alerted.

IRST says the Interflex 6020 offers the functionality of access control, time & attendance, rostering, visitor management, muster evacuation, and other services required by their customers. To find out more, call 01922 707400 or visit http://security.ingersollrand.com/interflex
