Online tool – DuPont
At this year’s A+A, DuPont will exhibit its new Type 3 chemical protective suits; an online tool to assist users in selecting appropriate protective clothing; and heat, flame and arc protective solutions for firefighters and industrial applications.
Two Tyvek and Tychem suits will be previewed both of which use Type 3 protection. The coveralls are designed to afford protection against non-pressurised and pressurised chemical sprays, solid airborne particles, radioactive particles, and biological hazards.
SafeSPEC 2.0 is an internet tool designed to provide support to safety engineers when selecting appropriate chemical protective clothing for a given application. The user is given product suggestions from DuPont’s portfolio based on their search criteria, so as to enable them to compare the individual solutions. DuPont will also present its Nomex fabrics and developments from its Nomex Partners, in the field of heat and flame protective apparel for firefighters.
Depending on the requirements, these products offer partial or whole-body protection. The company says it undertakes extensive research to ensure all of its products can meet or exceed the safety standards imposed by standards and legislation.
