Office-furniture manufacturer Wilkhahn says the German Sport University in Cologne conducted a scientific study of its new office chair, the ON, using advanced measurement methods to examine its levels of comfort and options for motion.
Wilkhahn says the tests concluded that the ON’s three-dimensional design means it offers a new and natural range of motion that people sitting on the chair find very comfortable. Owing to the rotational motion of the torso that ON encourages, the whole body is motivated to move, particularly the muscles deep in the back, which are vital for stabilising the spine, says Wilkhahn. Feedback from users has also been extremely positive, says the company.
