Office seating- AGATA/D chair

Office furniture maker Kokuyo has announced that its AGATA/D chair has won the Universal Design Award 09.

The company says the Award was established to raise awareness of contemporary design issues as they relate to individuals, businesses, researchers and government. Judging decisions are said to be based on such criteria as accessibility, flexibility, intuitiveness, safety, and affordability.

Kokuyo says the judges were particularly impressed with AGATA’s ability to combine exceptional comfort with ease of use. They remarked on the simple yet sophisticated design of the lumbar-support control, which means the AGATA is adaptable for a wide range of working environments.
