Locatable reversing alarm comes down in price

The makers of a white sound reversing alarm have announced that the product has been reduced by up to 20 per cent. Brigade Electronics say the cost reduction is down to advancements in manufacturing processes.

The bbs-tek® is a white sound reversing alarm, which the company says limits sound to the immediate danger area, preventing noise nuisance. A gentler “ssh, ssh” sound is also less irritating than the old style beeping alarms that are shrill to the ear, says Brigade.

The firm add that the broad band frequency emitted by bbs-tek® is directional and therefore instantly locatable, unlike ‘bleeping’ tonal alarms that can cause disorientation and even distress.

Brigade’s Regional Marketing Manager, Emily Hardy explains: “With white sound reversing alarms, you can pin point the exact location from where a vehicle is reversing and can actually hear the direction it is moving in. This prevents worker disorientation and reduces the likelihood of workers disconnecting the vital reversing aid due to noise nuisance.”

Brigade say that, with bbs-tek, the sound is louder in the danger area and dissipates the further away you are from the danger area, so you only hear it where it matters. This means it is possible to hear a vehicle approaching or moving away by locating its direction with the ear, adds the company.
