Hazardous Material Storage – Boundary Guardian
Mounted on a pole above the hoarding level, as agreed with the City of London, the Boundary Guardian is the first simultaneous multi- parameter monitor for dust, noise, wind speed and wind direction in the UK from a single source, according to its manufacturer Casella.
The system was specified by demolition and civil engineering contractor Keltbray for a project at Mitre House in the City of London in close proximity to a private educational institution, where the dust and noise caused by the deconstruction work being carried out had to be carefully managed.
The system features an IEC 61672-1 compliant sound level meter, dust measurement technology and a wind speed and direction sensor. It is designed to provide accurate, reliable data in harsh outdoor environments, and to help to ensure that conditions that are likely to cause adverse health effects are reduced or eradicated.
By accessing a private log-in on dedicated website, www.dataview247.com, Keltbray engineers are able to extract data and produce reports.
According to Keltbray, the Boundary Guardian “is proving to be cost effective, extremely accurate, reliable and very easy to use”.
Casella’s CEL-633 real time sound level meter, CEL-490 sound level meter and Microdust Pro dust monitor, are used on other demolition and construction sites.
