Abestos Training – Asbestos Awareness Course

NAPIT has launched a new asbestos-awareness course, which, it says, is designed to educate at-risk installers on the hazards associated with coming into contact with this potentially deadly material.

The company points out that inhalation of asbestos fibres can cause a variety of serious diseases, all of which are incurable and can be fatal. Thus, it is vital to be able to identify asbestos-containing material, know where it can be found, and understand what to do if you come into contact with it.

NAPIT says the half-day course will provide the awareness necessary to avoid asbestos, deal with it appropriately when it is encountered, and comply with legal requirements.

It adds that the aim of the course is to raise awareness and encourage avoidance. It is not appropriate for those looking to become asbestos-removal professionals. It covers: properties of asbestos, effects on health, risk avoidance, emergency procedures, legislation, types, uses and likely locations.

NAPIT says its asbestos-awareness training is approved by Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP), which, it points out, works in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive. NAPIT€ネsays this means its training has been independently audited to demonstrate compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

For more information, or to book a place on the course, visit the NAPIT training website at or telephone 0845 543 0330.
