Vibration measurement – lanyard loop attachment

Vibration engineering specialist Reactec has developed a new lanyard loop attachment for its HAVmeter device to facilitate compliance with work-at-height regulations.

The HAVmeter, which measures the amount of vibration workers are exposed to when using power tools, can now be attached to a lanyard, which, according to Reactec, will ensure workers at height are fully protected from vibration over-exposure.

Stewart McNaughton, health and safety manager at the company, said: “For people working at height it is extremely important that there is an effective way in which they are able to measure vibration while remaining safe. The lanyard loop is an extension of an already established and effective monitoring system, which we are keen to keep developing and moving forward.”

In developing this attachment, Reactec says it is ensuring that the conditions under which users are operating powerful vibrating machinery at height helps protect them from the potential risks of exposure to vibration.
