Low noise and vibration equipment – TrukTorque pneumatic torque multiplier

The newly launched TrukTorque™ pneumatic torque multiplier from Norbar Torque Tools is said to feature a special banana-shaped reaction arm for tightening bolts on front and rear wheels of trucks and buses. Norbar says the design also easily accommodates wheel trims and deeply-recessed wheel bolts. It adds that the multiplier has none of the noise and vibration problems associated with impact wrenches.

The TrukTorque is said to offer the ultimate in accuracy, safety and convenience for the commercial vehicle-repair and maintenance workshop. Unlike an impact wrench, TrukTorque is very quiet, adds the company. Typically, an impact wrench reaches 90-98dBA when idling and exceeds this when impacting. TrukTorque, when operating, is said to reach only 83dBA, so the operator doesn’t need ear defenders.

In addition, says Norbar, the TrukTorque does not exceed the daily Exposure Action Value of 2.5m/s2 set by the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations, so there is no restriction on its use during the working day.
