Women in Safety and Health Webinar
Why are women not bothering with Fellowship?
WIHS webinar that challenges lack of female Fellowship representation to feature IOSH President among speakers.
The #PutAPinInIt campaign initiated by Stuart Hughes and Crystal Danbury has captured a lot of interest, and Women in Health and Safety are looking forward to being a part of the conversation to enquire into “Why are women not bothering with Fellowship?”, on Wednesday 24th July at 11am (via zoom)
IOSH President Stuart Hughes
Within IOSH only 1% of the membership are fellows and within this narrow band, the gender imbalance sits at 20% female and 80% male.
Stuart Hughes, current IOSH president has committed not to wear his shiny new Fellowship pin until the gender imbalance is removed. 50/50, parity, equity. Hence the hashtag coined by Crystal Danbury #PutaPinInIt.
This webinar will look at understanding the barriers to fellowship for females. It will very much be a participatory conversation with the use of breakout rooms to discuss –
- Why do women not bother with fellowship?
- Is it not deemed as useful, or worthwhile?
- What’s getting in the way of women attaining fellowship?
- How can we improve the process?
- Do we need more visible role models?
- Do we need to increase the support/coaching available?
- Do you feel that fellowship doesn’t offer much to professionals?
Joining the webinar will be, Stuart Hughes, Crystal Danbury, Anna Keen and a range of facilitators from across the profession who support this ….
Join the conversation on 24th July, and register now.
