Well Done- Practitioner recognised for service to industry
Richard Ash has been awarded a RoSPA Distinguished Service to mark his 25 years working in the industry. The award was presented as part of the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards, which were held in Glasgow on 24 September.Mr Ash began his career working as an HSE inspector, where he formulated various guidance and initiatives, including the development of COSHH regulations. In his current role with ECIA he has worked hard to make sure the industry’s voice is heard at a national level. His achievements include developing guidelines on the safety of foreign workers, and helped to secure health and safety as an important part of negotiations between trade unions and employers.RoSPA chief executive Tom Mullarkey said: “Those who deserve our recognition and respect should be honoured, and RoSPA Distinguished Service Awards are a wonderful way of doing so.
“Richard Ash is indeed worthy of such esteem. He is an excellent example of a professional whose dedication has benefited workers by helping to prevent the misery associated with easily-preventable work-related accidents and ill health.”
