Following an audit and evaluation carried out by the British Standards Institute (BSI), the firm was recognised for quality standards in health and safety. The BS OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation promotes a safe and healthy working environment and provides guidelines for businesses to help them identify and resolve any issues before they arise.To gain the accreditation, Buck & Hickman was required to show that it had adhered to various standards in its stock-holding, warehousing and distribution department, including successfully reducing risk of accidents and improving training.Buck & Hickman health and safety manager, Mark Strong, said: “As a leading supplier of health and safety products, we take our own working environment and regulations incredibly seriously. We’re very proud of the accreditations we’ve earned – not just because of the credentials they give us but because it shows our customers that we practice what we preach.”
