Well done- Posthumous award for fire safety expert

Rodney Pierce, who passed away last year, worked for fire safety constancy Fireco, he was recognised along with one of his colleagues, Cyril Moseley, who was also awarded the WCL Competent Fire Risk Assessor Certification. Fireco managing director Neil Purssey collected the award on Rodney’s behalf.WCL, in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, operates an independent third party ‘competent persons’ scheme in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024:2003. The scheme is designed to allow fire risk assessors to prove, through third party certification, their competence to complete ‘suitable and sufficient’ fire risk assessments as required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.WCL manager of personnel schemes, Simon Ince, said: “Congratulations to Cyril on being one of the first Fire Risk Assessors in the UK to successfully attain Competent Fire Risk Assessors Certification. Presenting his award to Fireco is a fitting tribute to a very capable man, who will be missed by all those in the industry who knew him.“I wanted to come here myself to present this certificate as Fireco have assisted us in pioneering this scheme and I also know they are extremely passionate about appropriate certification for Fire Risk Assessors.”

A fire risk assessor has received a posthumous certificate of competence from fire safety services firm Warrington Certification Limited (WCL).
