Well Done- Packaging firm receives royal approval
SmartStak received a Queen’s Award for its SmartStak load handling system, which prevents the collapse of bottle packs during storage and transportation. The system was launched in 2007 and has led to a significant reduction of breakages in the glass bottle industry. It features an injection-moulded pad and a spring-loaded lockable frame, which prevent the collapse of bottles during transportation and storage.
The firm won the award in April, and was presented with a crystal bowl from the Queen’s representative South Yorkshire, Lord Lieutenant, David Moody during a presentation ceremony at its factory in Sheffield.
SmartStak general manager, Dave Arthur, said: “The Queen’s Award is the UK’s highest honour for businesses, so we’re extremely proud to have secured this royal recognition of excellence. The presentation ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to share this success with everyone connected to our business.”
