Well Done- Arco reaches milestone
Safety solutions provider Arco is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
The firm was founded in 1884 and originally made tennis balls for the Wimbledon championships. For the last 50 years it has been involved in the safety industry, and now has 40 branches across the UK and Ireland.
The anniversary coincides with the launch of the latest edition of Arco’s Big Book catalogue, which features 22,000 safety and workwear products. This year’s catalogue includes the latest in personal protective equipment with new safety glove designs from Marigold, specialist hearing protection from Sonomax, and superbug control products from Byotrol.
Arco joint managing director Thomas Martin said: “The business that was first formed 125 years ago has grown into a company that, for the last 50 years, has been at the forefront of safety in the workplace. We are constantly looking for innovation and introducing new product ranges in our mission to help protect people at work from ill health and serious injury.
“Last year 229 people were killed at work in the UK and Arco is committed to providing expert advice, training, products and services to all business sectors to help drive these statistics down.”
