An employee at energy firm Worley Parsons has achieved the highest marks in the UK for the NEBOSH National Diploma course, for which he studied with RRC Training.
Jamie Lewis, 27, is responsible for all contractor management on oil and gas projects in Iraq and Kazakhstan for Worley Parsons. The Diploma can take up to five years to finish, but Jamie completed the course in 18 months, after using a combination of distance and classroom learning at RRC’s head office in Wimbledon.
Jamie said he is proud to have attained the Diploma and feels it will give him credibility with management and clients. He added: “The NEBOSH Diploma is very well recognised in the oil and gas industry. There are a lot of mature people with many years’ experience in this industry, who may have the NEBOSH Certificate, but don’t have the Diploma. As a young guy, with both the Diploma and the experience, you are really well set up.
“RRC are great at preparing you for exams and I also had a lot of personal support from my manager, who gave me block release to do the Diploma.”
RRC managing director Gary Fallaize was full of praise for Jamie’s achievement, saying: “We are extremely proud of Jamie and his exceptional achievement in the NEBOSH Diploma. Jamie sets a fantastic example to others currently doing, or thinking of studying for, the NEBOSH Diploma and is an inspiration to us all.”
