Timber man takes top award
David Nimmo, operations director of Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS) has scooped the top gong at the National House-Building Council’s Health and Safety Awards.
David was declared joint winner of the Best Industry Health and Safety Leader award, the top honour in the NHBC’s Special Award categories. The award recognises senior managers and directors in their demonstration of top-level commitment to health and safety, and how this translates to tangible results.
David was commended for his innovative approach to changing processes and encouraging a culture of responsibility within his team. €ᄄ€ᄄDavid has been with SMTS since 1997 and joined the board in October 2007. He is currently responsible for planning, manufacturing, timber-frame erection and commercial functions, as well as fulfilling his role in managing health and safety.€ᄄ€ᄄ
