Submissions for new SHP editorial board

SHP-October-2014Earlier this year, we set up our first editorial board to assist the SHP team to further develop the magazine and its digital content.

The idea was that each member would carry an ambassadorial role for the magazine, which would include, for example, sourcing potential contributors through conferences, events and industry networks (SHP March 2014, pp37-38).

To ensure that we continue to meet the needs of SHP’s readership and maintain the brand’s high standards, we envisaged that the editorial board members would act as a sounding board so that any new content remained relevant and added value to the safety professional’s role.

000_FC_SHP0814Since setting up the editorial board, we’ve been able to draw on the invaluable expertise of Nigel Bryson, Nattasha Freeman, David Thomas and Louise Ward – all industry stalwarts with a wealth of experience across a diverse range of sectors.

On 28 October, our four experts will join the SHP team for a final meeting before we set up a new editorial board to start in January 2015.

SHP would like to take this opportunity to thank our editorial board members for giving up their valuable time and contributing so generously to SHP’s development.

We would also like to announce that we are ready to receive submissions for four new members, who will
be announced in the FC-July-smallDecember issue and will serve for 2015.

Successful applicants must hold at least chartered membership of IOSH status as a minimum requirement.

We are looking for individuals that have experience in a diverse range of industry sectors. Ideally, we’d also like at least one member to have international experience.

The board members will meet on a formal basis at UBM’s London office twice a year in March and October.

To notify the SHP team of your interest in a position on the editorial board, please email:
[email protected] and FC-June14explain in 100-150 words why you would be suitable for the role and what expertise you could bring to the table.

The closing date for submissions is Friday, 24 October.
