SHP Race Day winners announced
Two winners have been chosen for SHP’s inaugural race day, taking place tomorrow at Epsom Racecourse.
Julia Quant, Pioneering Independence, and Michael Smith, Playfords, have won two tickets each to the races, where they’ll receive entry to the exclusive Royal Box, enjoy a 3-course buffet and a complimentary bar, as well as being introduced to the SHP and Safety & Health Expo teams.
Julia is head of health and safety and training and Pioneering Independence, a nationwide company specialising in the care of people with forensic and complex needs in their own homes. She describes herself as an active member of IOSH, IIRSM and NASHiCS.
When asked why she loved SHP, Juila said: “SHP is not connected with any health and safety membership organisation and can project ‘the broader picture’ of health and safety in the workplace without bias. The articles are thoughtfully chosen and of interest to all sectors of the safety industry, not just huge corporate or government sectors.
“There isn’t too much ‘politics’ in the prose, but the legal updates are clearly presented outlining the ramifications of any changes in plenty of time for professionals to act.”
Michael Smith, is SHE manager at Playfords Ltd, a company that specialises in the fields of renewable energy, voice and data cabling, audio visual and IT networking and electrical and mechanical services. In his role, Michael has been involved in achieving OHSAS 18001 certification and maintaining the ISO 140001 environmental management system.
Michael said: “I love SHP because of its punchy, to-the-point stories, the bucket loads of information it gives and its forward thinking team.”
Congratulations to Julia and Michael – we look forward to welcoming them tomorrow!
