Santia acquisition strengthens Alcumus’ position

Alcumus, a provider of technology-enabled compliance, certification and verification risk management solutions, has announced its acquisition of Santia Consulting Limited.

The consultancy is an important provider of integrated health and safety and environment risk management services and the acquisition means that Alcumus will now be able serve over 30,000 clients both in the UK and internationally.

The enlarged business is now in a position to provide outsourced risk management services that it says are critical to compliance with UK regulations, internationally recognised standards and recognised contractor accreditation and supply chain verification schemes.

Alyn Franklin, formerly Santia’s chief financial officer, will join Alcumus as chief operating officer, ensuring continuity and quality of service delivery and client management.

Commenting on the acquisition, Alyn said: “I’m proud of the growth in our business over the last five years, and very excited about the opportunities in our market that joining with Alcumus brings to the next phase of our development strategy. We look forward with confidence to seeing the enlarged Alcumus continue to innovate and grow market share.”

Martin Smith, Alcumus’s chief executive officer, added: “The addition of Santia represents a significant development for Alcumus and strengthens further our compliance, certification and verification risk management development strategy. The combined Alcumus and Santia business makes us the major player in risk management solutions in the UK. We look forward to working with the Santia team to support the business’ continued growth and to extend our respective areas of expertise across our combined customer base.”

The acquisition of Santia was supported with funding and transactional expertise from Inflexion, Alcumus’ private equity investor, which invests in established high growth businesses.
