Positive partnership agreed for London 2012
The London 2012 Organising Committee and the Olympic Delivery Authority have agreed a set of overarching ‘Principles of Cooperation’ with the TUC on areas such as health and safety, training, equality, and fair employment standards.
The agreement, although not legally binding, recognises the complexity of preparing and organising the games, and that the event will involve many different companies and organisations, employing people on a range of timescales, and terms and conditions.
Olympics minister, Tessa Jowell, said: “We want London 2012 to be remembered not just as a fantastic festival of sport but also for showcasing positive working relations.”
