Movers and shakers- HSS unveils confined space training tank
The company, which is the training division of tool and equipment hire firm HSS Hire, has installed the tank at its new flagship training centre in Solihull. The tank allows trainers to take delegates out of the classroom and practice confined space safety in a real working environment. Various scenarios and environments can be simulated within the tank, including flooding, gas leaks, and reduced visibility.HSS training director, Mark Winfield, said: “The confined space awareness course gives delegates the knowledge and skills they need to manage the specified risks that come from working in a confined space. But there’s only so much that the theory can teach you and you can’t beat a bit of practical application, which is why we’ve made this significant investment. And we’ll be commissioning more training tanks over the next few months to make sure that all our confined space awareness courses offer this additional training element.”
