Motor sport- Putting safety in pole position

Safety firm Three Spires Safety, of Coventry, has agreed to sponsor motor-racing driver Darrell Wilson to further promote the safe driving message.

Wilson is currently in his second season of racing Caterham Sevens, as part of the Caterham Graduates Racing Club, which features 70 cars competing on various race tracks across England and Wales.

Company director, Rob Castledine, is friends with Wilson and both men hope the sponsorship will help to promote workplace safety to a wider audience. Wilson said: “Whilst motorsport can be dangerous, drivers’ safety at race events is paramount, and event organisers always insist on the highest standards for all involved.

“In promoting Three Spires Safety in this way, I hope the same important message can be passed onto other organisations that have responsibility for the safety and welfare of their staff.”

Darrell has made a good start to the season, with three top-10 finishes in the first four races. The next event is at Pembrey, South Wales on 14/15 June 2009.
