Logistics- New guidelines for loading haulage vehicles
The Building Products Delivery Working Group (BPDWG), which is coordinated by Wincanton, determined that there was a need for documented guidelines following an initiative that examined ways of eliminating, or reducing, the risks of working at height associated with the loading and unloading of building products. The guidelines highlight suitable equipment and working methods that are available to haulage companies, and offer an insight into their capacity and limitations.BPDWG chairman and Regional Director for Wincanton, Ben Young said: “The correct handling of equipment and the safe use of vehicles are paramount to many companies and the members of the BPDWG and we wanted to produce guidelines so that any haulage company can work in a safer environment. Together, we’ve worked on this document for two years to ensure it provides as much advice as possible so I’m delighted to see its final publication.”€
