Leisure centre staff gain pool management qualification
Staff at a leisure company in Dundee have received a qualification for swimming pool safety management.
Dundee Leisure, which operates seven leisure centres in the city, put its staff through The Royal Life Saving Society UK’s National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ). The training covers health and safety laws relating to swimming pools and also the management of serious incidents.
16 senior members of staff completed the NPMQ, which will benefit the approximately 900,000 visitors that Dundee Leisure receives each year.
Dundee Leisure training coordinator, Mark Agley, said: “It is really important for us to stay up to date with requirements and recommendations within the industry to allow us to provide the best possible service for our visitors. Taking this qualification reassured us that we have very robust and effective systems already in place.”
