Joining forces- Safe landing zones identified
In the event of an accident, this should greatly reduce the time taken to transport casualties requiring urgent medical attention to the most appropriate hospital.The project, which began in January 2007, has seen 27 landing zones brought into around-the clock operation, with more being considered. Each site has undergone risk assessment to ensure the safety of air-ambulance helicopter crew, emergency responders on the ground, workers, and the nearby public.

Sembcorp UK's Protection Group has joined up with the Great NorthernAir Ambulance to identify safe landing zones at high-hazard industrialsites throughout the north east of England.
