Joining forces – IOSH members to benefit from new agreement on information services

IOSH has entered a new partnership agreement with a health and safety services provider, which should see the delivery of comprehensive online intelligence to its worldwide membership.

As the official information service of IOSH Barbour EHS will provide members of the Institution with exclusive and free access to a package of information resources and tools on a quarterly basis. Suitably experienced IOSH members will also be given the opportunity to develop an additional income stream through contributing content to Barbour’s ever-expanding library of documents and resources.

Additionally, IOSH members will benefit from a profit-sharing agreement between IOSH and Barbour EHS that will enable IOSH to further invest in services for its membership.

Stephen Baker, director at Barbour EHS, which is part of United Business Media, commented: “Growing economic and CSR demands and the ever-increasing complexities involved in effective risk management mean that the multi-faceted role of the health and safety professional continues to grow.  Against this backdrop, it is vital that health and safety professionals have access to relevant and up-to-date information and resources to enable informed decision-making.

“We are delighted to partner with IOSH and confident that the Barbour online information service will continue to support health and safety professionals worldwide in carrying out their roles and obligations effectively.“

Chief Executive Rob Strange OBE explained how the decision to create this partnership was made: “We would only associate the IOSH name with a service if we are convinced it reflects the high standards we aspire to at IOSH;  having carefully reviewed the Barbour EHS information service we have every confidence in recommending it to our members.”

The agreement was officially signed at Safety & Health Expo at the NEC on 17 May.

A long overdue partnership that can only be good for the UK industries and for those of us who continue to support them.
