HSE points to improvements in waste collection sector
According to recycling and waste management website letsrecycle.com, the number of accidents which occur during the collection of household waste could fall following a significant improvement in health and safety management.
The 2005/06 period saw an increase in the number of reportable incidents, injuries and fatalities in the sector, but HSE principal inspector Paul Harvey says that more recent inspections revealed a “significant improvement” over a short period of time.
