HSE launches Health and Safety app for SMEs
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has released a bespoke mobile app, designed to help organisations understand the law, their health and safety rights, and their responsibilities.
The ‘Official HSE Health & Safety’ app, created in partnership with The Stationery Office (TSO), is primarily aimed at small and medium sized businesses to help them better understand the law and what is required to protect employees.
Available now as a ‘public beta’ on both Apple or Android devices, the app will cost a ‘a one-off introductory rate of £2.99.
What does the app include?
The app contains three main sections:
1. The Health and Safety Toolbox
Explaining what the law requires and the responsibilities an employer has and providing an overview of all potential risks, so an employer can identify which areas are applicable to their organisations.
2. A Guide to Managing Risk
Providing a step-by-step guide and practical advice on how to manage risk within an organisation.
3. Work-Related Stress
A condensed version of HSE’s stress management standards approach.
Though still in the beta testing phase, the app has been met with some mixed feedback on IOS and the Google Play Store.
